Hello, does anyone know what wiring will be needed to attach an Ultra Tour Pak onto a Street Glide? The Ultra pak will have the lights, speakers, antennas, etc.
I know I will probably need a wiring harness to run from the radio back to the tour pak for the speakers.
It will be a quick detach setup.
I appreciate any info if anyone has done this. Thanks.
You can check HD's website and the parts and accessories catalog for the detachable hardware, Ultra overlay harness (for wiring the speakers), etc. that you will need.
Check the SG LED rear fascia wiring harness. More than likely, it uses the bike's tour pak wiring harness for power and ground (the '08 and older SG's do). That harness is used for the tour pak lights on Ultras and non-SG EG's and RG's using the Ultra light bar.
You can make a Y-pigtail to power both the SG LED and tour pak lights using the bike's tour pak wiring harness. Another alternative is to make your own harness to connect to the bike's accessory connector under the seat. The accessory connector is a Deutsch connector. The part nos. you need can be found on the tour pak spoiler LED HD sells; just have the parts counter guy check the parts breakdown on the installation instructions for the kit.
The other end of your harness will use the AMP connector (and pins) that are on the bike's tour pak harness which the parts guy can give you from the Touring Models parts catalog for your bike.
There is extra wire coiled under the left cover going to the lower fender lights on the SG. I just unplugged those and ran that plug in the tourpack. The stock fender lights don't work now, but with the tourpack lights there is plenty I think. You could spice in I guess if you wanted those lights to work also. You have to remove the stock antenna. There is enough wire to reach the tourpack antenna. I don't have rear speakers so not sure on that.
the extra wiring should be coiled up under the left side cover, follow antenna wire from rear to front it should go in a plastic casing that has the extra wires that go to the tour pak for lights at least on my 08 RG was that way

But on a Street Glide, that wiring harness is used for the SG's rear fender fascia LED.
Thanks for all of the info everyone. I have the saddlebag LED spoilers. They plugged right into a spare harness under my seat. Is that the one that you are referring to as the one coiled under the left side cover? If so, then I guess I would just need a "Y" connector to run off of that plug. Just let me know. Thanks again.
