Buy a Garmin Nuvi...(760 has good reviews) and use a RAM waterproof mount...save hundreds and accomplishes your goal...not as clean looking, but saves money.
The one thing that neither kit comes with is what you may need the most, a sense of humor! Fun to have, but it's accuracy leaves a little to be desired. Like when you're 1/4 mile away from your destination and the Zumo is telling you to turn around and go back in the opposite direction. When you're actually AT your destination and it tells you "turn right ahead 1 mile". Sad.
The Garmin at least has the car & bike mounts if that helps you. It's a handlebar mount in case you're wondering. You can probably buy the Garmin cheap, then buy the HD fairing mount separately.
Just don't rely on it for being all that accurate!
I use my Zumo ALOT, and i've never experienced this. I have had issues with the random power down syndrome they exhibit from time to time, but i've never had to deal with the unit locking up or other problems that have been reported. All in all, i love it, and i don't think i could ever go back to maps while on the bike!
