Default Electra Glide Handling Issue

Just bought a 2000 Electra Glide Standard with only 8K miles. But, it has a lot of Harley extras added, so it's essentially a Classic. It's a great ride and my wife loves the backrest on the TourPak. But there is a handling issue I can't figure out. This bike will follow every little pavement groove or crack all the way down the road. I had the unfortunate experience of riding on several miles of grooved pavement on the freeway. It was nerve -wracking! I don't think it's dangerous but it is very unsettling. Anybody got an idea what might be causing this? Thanks! Tom

I'd change tires with different thread pattern.

Dunlop Elite 3's will cure that.

I'll 2nd DAWG's suggestion to go with Elite 3's. They go where you want and don't have a mind of their own.

Thanks! I will look for the Elite III tires. I suspected the old Dunlops might be the problem....

Get some decent tires (EIII's) and a Bagger Brace http://bitchinbaggers.com/products/bagger-brace/

I appreciate this post also....with almost 14,000 on my '02 FLHT I'm almost due for tires. I had no idea that the type of tire would make a difference on the handling when it comes to pavement grooves.

Yes your problem is the tires.....Get something else and you will not have so much wondering around going on...
