Air Cleaner Filter
Hey all, I just got my 88 FLHS 2 weeks ago and took it over to a local shop and had the oil changed and the whole bike checked over. One thing the guys mentioned to me was getting rid of the filter I currently have. The bike has an S&S carb and air cleaner with a wire meshed filter with a foam covering. What seems to be the best way to go? Thanks.

No, he didn't give any recommendations. As a new Harley owner, he had already asked me enough questions and answered mine to make me feel dumb, so by that time I had quit asking. Dumb on my part, but too late now.

Get the S & S Teardrop air cleaner kit and use the K&N filter element. It flows freely and is washable like all K&N filters.

Thanks guys, Hey luvmyflhtcui, the air cleaner you have is the same one I've got now, I'll have to check on the K&N filter element. I'm assuming the element I have now is stock, but not having seen one before I can't be certain.

Pull of the cover and look at it. The K&N's have an unmistakeable Bluish/purple hue to them.
Probably would say K&N on there as well. I like the tear drop cover as well, looks good luvmyflhtcui!
