Default Solid Mount Passenger Backrest for '04 Touring?

I have an '04 FLHTCI, currently have 4" windshield and FLHX seat on it with the Tour Pack removed for "summer style".

I've been looking and looking for a solid-mount backrest(I just can't bring myself to like the look of that black, knobby docking hardware sticking out under the seat...) and have been unable to find the part I'm looking for.

I have the resources(wrought-iron and chrome guys) at hand to create what I have in mind, but can't seem to find an appropriate mount and bottom staunchion from which to work on creating a classy, understated low-profile back-rest which will work with the silhouette lines of the stock FLHX seat or any similar ones(Badlander, etc.) and I'm wondering if anyone has something suitable in the back of their shed, or knows where I can find what I'm looking for.

I want to take a solid-mount part and craft something that will work for our desires(old lady's been after me to do something about it, lol...) and actually be a part of the bike, as opposed to a "stuck-on" looking pile of crap. There's plenty of folks with EGC's going for the StreetGlide look, but I haven't yet seen anything that appeals to my good senses. Anyone have a good direction to point me in?

HELP!!!
