I know they make a lock kit to replace the stock disconnect for the black leather bags on an RKC, but what about a locking mechanism for the opening/closing of the bags themselves to help prevent someone from just snooping inside my bags?
I haven't used or seen them, but seems like it would work ok. There is another company doing something similar, but I can't remember the name. Something like Custom WRX.
If the tops of the bags are locked, that prevents you from opening the bags and reaching the locking clips.
This is the HD lock kit from Harley Part # 46316-03
I have a set of the Aeromach locks. The HD ones weren't available 1 1/2 years ago when I wanted 'em.
I have been a bit unhappy with them of late, but after seeing the MOCO lock I have no remorse. The HDE ones will clearly take up too much room.
The HD bag lock is an easy install on the Custom (little harder on an RKC).
Order the lock and don't buy it off the shelf. then you can get it keyed to match your ignition lock and not have to deal with two different keys.
