Why do you say "Finally"? That style has been around for years. It even comes in black now.

and people say if you ever put anything on it, it will rub the top of your saddlebags.

I've only seen this one for the 09' until recently.
I like the style of the newer one way better, lid covers would solve the rubbing issue.

I guess life's about choices. That rack (in my opinion) not only looks funky, but is totally impractical for actually carrying any kind of a load. If you just want to strap a pair of gloves on there, it's probably ok. But you know what they say about opinions.

I have that rack. It's carried my t-bag 2000+ miles and never had any problem with the saddle bag lids being touched. It is on the small side, but it works and looks way better than the the rack with the lip sticking up.

I only wish the rack for pre 09 models was detachable...

ok now make one that will work with a 2pt docking kit and solo seat that looks like that before I leave on my next trip. right now i'm using a tall backrest and putting my t bag on backwards to use as a backrest..
