Default Fairing mounted mirrors-coments

I am thinking about going to the fairing mounted mirrors on my new Ultra Limited. I would like some opinions from those that are or have used them. Better or worse field of vision than the handlebar mounted?

Depends a lot on your hands etc, I like them but with 13" apes could not use them anymore. I have a pair I will sell for 35$ plus postage. You have to look to that spot on your fairing instead of over the bars. You may see a bit of your knuckles in the inside corner instead of a partial shoulder is all.

In the summer, I can see everything behind me with the fairing mounted mirrors. As soon as my leather jacket goes on I have reduced visibility.
If I had it all to do over again, I would try to put them further out toward the edge to get around my knuckles and jacket.
Which ones are you considering? HD isn't very adjustable. Kury or somebody else is adjustable with a wide rear view.

I installed mine 1 inch higher than where the template had them. They work great.

I have 14 inch apes on my FLHX and can use the fairing mounted mirrors effectively. I couldn't do so with the stock bars. Go figure!

I don't have them on my Ultra, but a friend of mine took them off his Street Glide and put on handlebar mounted ones. He said he couldn't see very well with them.

I have them on my '02 FLHT and can see perfectly....one reason the visibility might be better for me than others (if it makes a difference) is I'm only 5'7.

I'm 6' and couldn't see with them all that great. Then I put "2 up and 2 back bars" on and I could only see out of 1/2 the mirrors. I took them off and went with some mirrors that were taller and wider even than your stock Ultra mirrors.

If you actually want to use the mirrors, I wouldn't put them on. They are about as useful as the stock Street Glide windshield.

Some guys don't use mirrors. We had one buddy (who doesn't even have mirrors on his bike) leading a ride one day and he missed his turn, we all took the exit and he just headed on up the road and disappeared. He said he thought something was wrong when it got quiet. He turned around and looked and nobody was behind him. He thought mirrors were ugly. He now has a set on.

Love 'em on my Ultra. No problems whatsoever.

Clean cut's nice,

No prob here. Like others have said, your seat height makes a difference. Why not ask a fellow rider if he/she would mind if you sat on there bike to see if they are for you. I have tried that with seats before I bought my Sundowner.
