I've been wanting a set of hard bags for my '07 RKC ever since I got it. Well, I finally got them today. There were a few replies wondering why I would buy a RKC and then mount hard bags on it. Someone even said all that was needed, was to maybe adjust the mounting bracket so the latch bolts will line up. Nobody mentioned that the hard bags will not fit with the chrome bags rails for the leather bags. The rear corner of the hard bags hit the inside of the chrome rails before the bag will seat onto the bag support rail on the bottom. Am I doing something wrong?

There are two different rails for the two different bags. I sold my bags and rails as a package because for that reason.

JohnnyD is correct. I have a set of hard bags on their way to me for my RKC and will probably just run the hard bags without rails when I want that look and then change back once in a while to the leather bags with nostalgic rails.

I dunno. Maybe it's just me. The bags are shaped totally different. I wouldn't have thought for a second that the rails could be interchangagble.

Isn't there a chrome rail that looks exactly like the RKC leather bag rails only made for the hard bags? Does anyone know the part number? Or is the rail the typical double bar Ultra Classic style bars?

Go back and read my post. It has the link to the rails you are looking for. Same style, but for the hardbags.

If I were you, put the new bags on and see if you like it without the rails. I do, it's a much cleaner look. And if you decide to get em, try finding em used. Lots of people sell em because they take em off. Just my .02
