I don't remember the other seller. My fairing is not plastic it is hand laid fiberglass. Since my fairing is sitting the family room floor, it's a done deal.
Do you remember which brand or seller made you unhappy? Unfortunately, I don't have the money for a Dead Center, Dragonfly, or Quadzilla. I am looking for an economical alternative (not a piece of crap plastic fairing) and I'm not afraid of doing a little work myself if necessary. Quality is important to me and is the entire reason for this thread.
I'm in the same boat as you, want a fairing......not rich
The Dragonfly fairings are now only $899 now, which is what I'm looking at.
JonnyD just wondering what is pulling you away from the woody's?
If it is the gap over the head light, I noticed more wind coming through then I liked once it got cold, I took an old steering wheel cover, like the slip over ones from walmart, cut a peice out of it that was the correct lenght and just slipped it in the gap sealed it up nicely and looks like it belongs there infact my son commented on it today saying it looks like it was made for it, I am sure it is because of the manf. process, but an easy fix.

Well, until you said that, nothing was really pulling me away from the Woody's fairing. I kinda figured that would be a problem. Since I live in the NW, cold air coming through that gap would be a factor if I spend several hundred $$ on a fairing and ditch the shield.
Mainly, I am still looking and have a few months of crappy weather ahead to make a good decision. Both Dragonfly and Dead Center are only a few hours from me, here in WA. So I plan on making a trip up and look at both, and see if they are worth the extra dough.
I got the pictures, now lets see if I remember how to post them. I noticed the gaps are at the bottom and once installed on the bike they will not be visible. The major gap will be behind the head light.

Where is the gap in the other pics shown, not the headlight area? How do you feel about the purchase, now that you have it? How's the quality? Is there going to be a lot of prep for paint? How are the brackets, do they look sturdy? have you checked it for fit yet? Do you have pics of the fairing on the bike so we can see the fit?
Good pics, BTW, thanks. I am curious to see if this will be a good alternative, and spend the money on a good stereo instead.

Looking at the pictures with my hangers in the way (LOL) on the left hand side you can see a screw directly below the 6X9 speaker cut out. There is a gap between that screw and the bracket. As stated you can't see it when you hold the fairing as if it were on the bike. I bet you could drill a hole and add a screw/nut to fix that problem. Other than that the fairing and brackets seem to be good quality. It came in today and I have not put it on the bike. I will do that tomorrow. Including shipping I paid $290 so I am happy!!
It will be a while before it goes to paint, I live in Houston and it was a high of 78 today!!
