Default LED Lights

Do I need an equalizer module if I'm adding LED lights and if so, what is it suppose to do?

LED's in what?
Brake? No
Turn Signals? Yes

LED's use minimal voltage and won't operate properly without something to make the module think it's using the standard amount of juice required.
The load equalizer steps in and makes the system think it's pulling more current than it actually is.

As Badpiggy said no on brake and yes on turns (and any others). Do yourself a favor and pick up a Biketronics Smart Equalizer. One is all you need for the whole bike no matter how many LED's you add. Alarm compatible. Completely plug n play OEM connections with very little heat and a no hassle lifetime warranty. You can pick one up for a lower that direct price through any discounted Drag Specialties distributor.

Badlands is right. Where are you trying to put your LEDs? Now...if you have a brake light and want to go LED you're safe without a load equalizer normally. If you want to install rear or front turn signals and go LED this is where it get a wee bit different. Usually if you only go with one set of LED turn signals it's not an issue and your blinker will stay good. BUT, if you go with BOTH front and rear LED turn signals you need to get a load equalizer.

Badlands makes the Illuminator III Load Equalizer and it works fantastic. No heat coming from it, has an excellent reliability rating. I've used mine for awhile. Installed on others bike and have had zero issues with this module.

Here's the link if you'd like to look it up:

If you have the security system, make sure you get the load equalizer that is compatible (i.e. won't adversely impact the security system).

The Badlands module is the only way to go, it's completely plug-n-play, works with security systems, and doesn't heat up at all.

I changed all the lights on my bike to LEDs, only standard bulbs left are the headlight and passing lamps.

+1. Plug and play takes all the brain work out of it, and it has worked flawlessly for me.

Actually they are on a trailer I bought. Tail/Turns, brake, and side marker.

Just plug it in then. Your machine won't even know it's there. You don't need to do anything. If you change the signals on the bike though, get the Badlands.
