Off Topic but need help
Is there any Ford Mechanics on here? I can't find a decent forum to ask questions about my expedition on? I am having some trouble with the stupid moonroof and of course it is going to rain all weekend. Thanks for any help or advice...
So what's the problem? Is it stuck open or is it leaking water?
If it's the first, I can't help you much. If it's the second, there are drain tubes at the back of the roof panal that drop into the trunk and usually exit in front of the rear wheels. I've seen those tubes kinked and that doesn't allow the water to drain off properly.
??????????????
Good luck

Thanks for the replies. It has worked fine until last night. I opened it and of course later is started to sprinkle so I went to close it and I can hear the motor try for a split second and the moonroof starts to close but only move about 1/2 an inch or so then it stops almost as if it is hung up or stuck on something. If I hit the button to open it it will move back but it will only go between this 1/2 an inch area. The best assumption that I can make is that the back of the moonroof came off of the track if that is possible? Also there are two thin bars on each side of the window track. The passenger side is perfectly straight. However the drivers side is bent upwards towards the glass. Does anyone know if these bars are some sort of locking mechanism? Thanks in advance for any ideas. I just hate to pull the entire headliner to work on it if it is something easy. Also there isn't a fuse only a relay and I assume that it is fine since it will still move slightly back and forth.
you got to hit it with wd40 its binding mine did the same thing. i cleaned out all the tracks lubed it with wd40. and worked the switch back and forth and like majic it started to work fine. been 5 months now without a problem.

Please keep in mind, as I said, it has been a very long time since I've worked on these things so take what I'm telling you with a grain of salt but I hope it helps.
Best of luck and let us know how it goes!
