Default Roadglide shake

Thought you guys may have an idea what to check first. Friend had to much to drink and put my 08 roadglide in the ditch not really deep just muddy. Now the bike seems to have a shake when pushed into curves or transitions going down the freeway. This shake is in the frontend. I dont see anything obvious and dont even know if something is wrong. But with it being a touring bike it just doesnt seem right. Any Ideas would be appreciated.

The ride is intoxicating enough, don't drink and ride. Was there much force when he put it into the mud and how fast was he going when it happened?

Could likely be front end damage, bent forks, bent wheel or loose steering head bearings.

I had a friend who got some mud stuck between the tire and the rim and it dried inside the tire. Until he got it all cleaned out his bike shook like hell anytime he got above 50mph. You might check you front wheel thoroughly on both sides for small rocks or mud chunks, even let the air out and see if you have mud inside the tire. That is where I would start.

Just me, but I'd start with having the friend figure it out and get it right. If he doesn't, he's not much of a friend.

bout 20+ years ago i worked at a kawasaki dealership..i have about a million stories of people letting "friends" go for a spin on there new bike..and the carnage that followed...believe me letting a inexperienced, impaired, or otherwise "friend" ride your bike is just not a good idea..but that said i have some very trustworthy experienced friends (bikers) that i would have no worries about lending my scoot to for a spin

this sounds like an expensive way to learn a lesson. hope you get it figured out, and keep that "friend" off your bike. if i've had one too many, no way in hell am i even going to get on mine, nor let anyone else ride it.

An old biker once told me that there were two things you never let a buddy borrow: Your bike and your wife. He might throw a rod in either one of them.

That being said, look for the dried mud, as posted above. If not there, or clean, start looking at the front end (neck, clamp, forks, etc....) to see if it is tweaked. Something isn't right.

Never let a drunk on a bike, especially yours. Friendship goes only so far when it comes to your bike.
