At best, the grease is covering up a flakey bearing or too loose bearings. As the grease thins and flows down out of the bearings, the problem will resurface.
My first advice to you is to conduct a Fall Away test as described in the service man. It is best done with hand controls and cables removed from bars. They are simple to slip off if your bars are not internally wired-just loosen the screws and slide them off and let them hang as you do the test.
