Default New Bagger!!

Just a quick repost of what I put in the general chat section. Thought I would put it here seeing as how I will be spending a lot of time in this section from now on.

I have owned a 2004 Softail Standard, my first Harley, since April of last year. I bought it brand new thru AAFES while returning from my 6 month deployment to NW Iraq. I have enjoyed it a lot. However, my best friend bought a 2006 Peace Officer RK earlier this year and let me take it for a spin a couple of times. The ride on a bagger is incredible! I am currently deployed again this time to Puerto Rico; actually it is more like a paid vacation(thank you for your tax dollars ). Anyway, yesterday I am bored and decide to call up AAFES to price up Harleys. I find out they have a 2005 Electra Glide Classic, black cherry still in inventory.....for $16K. Needless to say I spent a lot of money yesterday. I pick it up when I get back home in October. [sm=happy046.gif]

AF,

First, thanks for what you do for our country.

Recently I saw a used 05 EG in Black Cherry and thought that it was an incredibly beautiful bike. I like that color!!! Congratulations on your purchase....and I'm surprised there was still a new one sitting in a dealers showroom.

Be careful in Puerto Rico.

I will second AF on how appreciate and proud we are of our military men and women! I too, spent almost 15 years in the Air Force. Did my time in both Desert Shield and Desert Storm!

It's great that HD gives our military pretty good discounts. $16k for a brand new bike is pretty good. Most dealers sell for MSRP or higher. Congrats on your new ride!

Congrats. Don't know how you can wait so long to get something you've already paid for!

Enjoy your "vacation" put away the vest and get out the sunscreen! It's guys like you that let the rest of us have the freedom to enjoy our bikes. Thanks for your sacrifices.
