My wife is 5'5" and her '09 SG has been modified to suit her perfectly (Mustang seat, lowered rear, relocated floorboards, etc.). Her biggest issue is not being able to reach the jiffy stand when it's down to pull it back up. She REEEEEEEEEALLY needs to stretch and point her toe to just barely hook it and try to pop it back up. Does anyone make an extension or different stand which would be easier for her to pull up?
This kit has been redesigned to add convenience and style to our existing jiffy stand. Polished and chrome-plated, it installs easily and includes all chrome hardware.
She's using a Mustang 79602.....nice seat, made MUCH better then the POS OEM seat!
The problem with the HD 50233-00 jiffy stand extension is that it helps when putting the stand down (not up), as the extra arm sticks-out farther and its easier to find when lowering the stand. If you notice, it actually points FORWARD when the stand is down....away from the rider. As such, it offers her no benefit when trying to reach the lowered stand.
This seat sits her lower than the OEM seat?I guess you can tell that I'm the same height.
This Mustang seat was lower than the OEM seat, but slightly taller than the Reach seat (which had less padding). But the nose of both the Reach and Mustang seats were narrower than the OEM seat. Between that and the backrest, it worked very well for her. And again, a very well made seat....not cheap, but well made.
I installed the jiffy stand extension from HD on my 09 ultra due to having trouble reaching the stand after putting it down. It made it alot more easy to reach for me. If you decide to put it on yourself get a real good drill bit because the jiffy stand is really hard steel, but is fairly easy to install.
