Default WIX filters, FYI......

I have been using WIX filters sense I found out what a POS
FRAM is. Used NAPA in a pench, as they are made by WIX.
But then 6 or 8 yrs. ago I found www.filter1.com
At that time they were half price what my local dealer was charging.
Just got off the phone with them today. And the black Harley filter
PN-51348 is $4.71 the chrome, PN-57348 was $10.43.
I usually order several dozen, for friends, family and associates.
BUT if you order over $50.00 the shipping is FREE. Tenn.Vol.

FWIW, NAPA Gold filters are made by Wix.

The 51348 fits the the following applications and has a filter rating of 21 microns. The HD filter has a 5 micron rating and is made specifically for my scoot. I think I will pass and stay with the MoCo filter.

Various Chrysler/Jeep (82-09), Various GM, Saturn (85-07), Lexus (90-09), Saab (67-09), Suzuki (86-02), Toyota (88-09), Ford (03-09), Mazda, Mercury (05-09), Yugo (86-89), Various Lawn&Garden, Farm Equip.

If you have the time, here is the extended application list. I too buy my filters in bulk. I get them from either Zanottis or Chicago HD at 20% off.

couple things, fine filtration is fine and good, but it can also reduce oil pressure and volume and that's bad.
Many of harleys filters are made by wix also. Used to have a list, but lost it.
also HD can not void a warranty, because you did not use their filter. As long as the filter meets or exceeds their specifications. (been there done that and won).
I upgraded my oil pump this year, now have about 15 psi at idle warm, compared to the measly 5 or so with HD's pump, and 40psi, cruising when warm.
I feel better.

microns are rated in sizes ,5 being larger particles and 22 being smaller particles .. how clean do you want your oil ??... ever have a shop vac and vaccum sheetrock dust? it goes all thru the filter and usually back into the room... you buy a bag for that kind of dust and have everthing contained.. JMO

I do believe you have that backwards. A micron is a measurement like an inch. 5 is smaller than 22
