Touring mufflers question
I have a 2001 Ultra Classic with V&H slip ons. I want to put stock mufflers back on. I heard stock mufflers from any touring bike (Road King, etc) from 97 on will work, but then I heard that a catalytic converter was introduced at some point.
Can I install stock mufflers from a 97-newer touring model on my bike, or only certain years/models?

Catalytic mufflers were introduced on FL models this year. You can use another slip-on.....I think all the way back to '89. The older slip-on mufflers have a "shoulder" where they slip into the header........and are a diffeent inside diameter. The "newer" ones don't have the "shoulder" and have splits in the part of the muffler that slides into the header pipe.

If the mufflers you want did not come from california, they have had em forever any other state, youre ok up through 05. all 06 are catalist. tons of sets for cheap on e-bay.
