I'm thinking about getting a AIM VPC 84T for my bike, and I have a question about the derby cover.
I read on their website that the stock cover works fine, but any other cover needs spacers. I have the HD Skull cover and would like to know if anyone else who has that cover and a VPC had to use a spacer or not.
I know it says to use a 1/4" spacer, but I don't think I'm going to like how that looks.
My winter plans are maybe the VPC, change the fork oil, change the rear shock oil, and maybe do the bushings for the swingarm. After that when I need tires again, I want to do the wheel bearings.
I had to use a spacer with my VPC on my 04 with the commemorative police derby cover, so you will have to use one with yours. The OE is concave slightly on the inside. The accessory ones are flatter.
FWIW, I used a black spacer on the chrome cover and chrome primary cover to break it up. I also used the pre-cut derby disc gasket.
Damn! Has everyone loss their jobs, I loss my job of 17 years 3 weeks ago! I feel your pain would've love to snag those HQ heads Phil had up for sale but I've had to cut back my spending habits to. Guess we're all in the 10%er club now
I have the VPC on a 2007 Street Glide with skull derby cover. I used the spacer available with the VPC. The spacer blends well with the cover. Unless you look closely you never would notice it. If you look closely at the attached picture you can see the spacer. I've been very pleased with the clutch. Got it from Hippo on this forum.
