Has anyone tried out these mufflers ontheir bike, and how do they like them.
Screaming Eagle Slip-Ons part #80491-07
I am thinking about them for my 2008 Street Glide. The bike is completely stock, but I will probably upgrade the intake and have it dynoed in the spring.
I have them on my 07 RK. The big difference from stock is the nice low rumble at idle and acceleration, but not that loud at normal riding speeds (which is a good thing). I'm very happy with them.
I have them on my 08 Ultra and like them a lot. The are not too loud, but sound really good when you get on it. Plus, they are EPA approved so no worries about a ticket.
I got sick and tired of the noise; not just being halfway deaf for three hours after any ride longer than two hours but also on account of the incessant headaches after longer rides. So I got a hold of a pair of SE CVO pipes and WOW what a difference. Much quieter but still enough of the V-Twin music to let everyone else on the road know who's the Man.
Sometimes I miss the obnoxious roar of the Samson pipes. Like when confronting idiot pedestrians with neither eyes nor brains. But where it counts, on the Open Road, it doesn't matter. And around town I'm still sufficiently cool solely by way of the towering Bat-Wing.
IMO they have the perfect blend. It really has the troaty sound HD's should have but can still hear my stereo with no problem. Had louder pipes before but they overpowered my sound system.
I had the SE slipons on my 03 Dyna and they were perfect for me. Throaty, not too loud, not obnoxious at cruise, came alive under acceleration but did not bark. I am still stock with my 09 EGC and thinking about what slipons to get, if I get any at all. Getting to the point where I don't need the noise any more.
I have them installed on my '08 Electra Glide. I re-cored them myself with Fullsac 2" baffles and their true duals kit. I luv they're sound. Really nice bark and great thumpa thumpa thumpa sound at idle.
