SE/AC element to a K&N ??
SE/AC element to a K&N ??
I searched but could not find the answer......
I have a SE/AC on an 07 Road King,the element is falling apart and was wondering if I can just put a K&N element with out buying our changing the backing plate out? Is the high flow stuff interchangeable I guess is the question..If so any one got a part#?

I can't say for sure, BUT I bought a Fuel Moto SE air cleaner and it came with a screamin eagle back plate. I am pretty sure it also came with a K&N filter. I would figure that a K&N filter would fit a screamin eagle plate.
Correct, the K&N replacement for your SE stage 1 would be K&N part #HD-0800

This is strange. This one has the same diemensions but the top looks different.

0800 vs 0818
If you look closlely at the 3 hole pattern on the 0800, you can see that the center hole for the cover is not directly in the center of the three filter mounting holes. My SE Stage 1 filter has the mounting plate that has the center hole directly in the middle of the filter mounting holes. Only the HD-0818 will fit that pattern. Check your mounting plate and see if that applies to you. I bought the 0800 from the dealer who assurd me it would fit the SE set-up and it did not.
