I have a 99 Road King and I took off my air filter and found a little engine oil coming out while I was trying to diagnose another problem.
I left the air cleaner stuff off and started it up and immediately a little oil dripped out. Not a lot but a couple of drips and it shows signs of dripping oil for a while.
Where is the oil coming from and how do I fix this problem???
99 Road King Classic EFI- FLHRCI> Just in case this might be related to my other problem I'm trying to diagnose:
Will not stay at idle unless I hold the throttle a little bit. Sluggish on take off. Noticed small oil leak on oil pan- saturated but not dripping, rear head @ the top I see a little oil saturated the size of a quarter but not dripping, electrical connections look fine, spark plugs ok, battery/charging system ok, fuel filter/pump ok, my RK only has dualed Rineharts and a Revtech DFO. (Pipes and DFO installed by previous owner)

Typical especially after a hard ride. Several (present company included) reroute breather tubes so it doesn't do that. Several options. Also should check umbrella valve and breather baffle assemblies in the rockers. Major amount would be a problem with oil pump or breather assemblies.
Just reread your post and saw that you stated it was coming out of the throttle body? It generally comes out of the breathers. Are you sure it's not coming out of the breathers and was getting sucked into the throttle body and it appeared it was coming out?
Its could be comming from one of two places or both. Could be the crank case ventilation system, the one way check valve is letting a little oil blow by. Or it could be you have too much oil in the sump case (oil pan). Try running it a little low on oil to allow for expansion this should help. If its not alot i would not worry about it. Just keep the oil filter clean.
You were right Dawg it was coming out of the breathers. Sorry been riding on street bikes for 15 yrs and this is my first Harley. I will definitely check those suggestions.
Tell your spouse that the only fix is to bump up the engine to a 95" and once you have her convinced that you need to spend the money you can then do some of the suggestions that will only cost a couple of bucks while you're at it!
