Maybe the last ride for a while. Picked my bike up at Hales yesterday and rode the 35 miles home while listening to Christmas music. Stopped for fuel, and a guy couldn't believe I had Christmas music going. He said a HD and Christmas music just didn't seem to go together. I told him I would have had a Santa suit on if I had one.
Temp was about 45 and in blue jeans and leather coat, I was comfortable. Just picked up a pair of goretex/thinsulate gloves from Cabelas, and with silk liners in them, my hands were nice and warm.
2-3 inches of rain expected tonight and tomorrow, and them temps in the low 20s for the rest of the week will stop me from riding for a while. Stabil in the tank and tender plugged in are planned for tonight. Another thing I do is put plastic bags with rubber bands on them over the exhaust to keep water from condensating inside the pipes.
I feel for you guys back there honestly, I hate the cold and not have the ability to go ride.
I had to shovel a butt load of sunshine off the driveway again today just to get down to Highway 1 two blocks from the house, rode it for my entire 3 mile commute along the CA. Coastline and it looks like I will have to start all over again in the morning!
I ride all year in Ohio so long as there is no precip on the roads. The other day a friend asked if there was a patch for people that rode all winter. I told him yes, it reads (Dumba**!) LOL
I get the same thing from my buddies. I tell them it's sunny outside the sky is clear, why the hell aren't they riding. I have just as much fun riding in the winter as I do in the summer, fall, and spring. It's really not a problem riding in the winter if your are geared up correctly. To each is own! I'm ridin'!
Went for about a 170 mile ride this past Saturday. It was 29 when I left and don't believe it got to 50. Had the right gear on and no problems keeping warm. I think it took me longer to get dressed than the actual ride...........lol...
Thank god they don't salt the roads in Wa. We ride pretty much year round, unless it's raining hard, or if there's snow/ice on the roads. It rains a lot in the winter, though, so there's lots of time for little projects.
I'm stuck in Atlanta this week in miserable weather, meanwhile, it's sunny and dry at home. grrrrrrrrr
