I have got on my front and rear brakes hard at the same time while hitting small bumps and felt a chatter in the rear pedal. Will the upgrade fix this??
I have used my brakes very aggressively a couple of times and have found if the road has any inconsistancies that it is like hitting a patch of ice.It all happens real quick and leaves you thinking WTF was that??

The Service Bulletin M-1251 is for the Calibration Upgrade for 2009 Touring Models with ABS. The Service Bulletin # for 2008 is perhaps M-1250 or M-1252 as I recall. The dealers should be well aware of this upgrade by now hopefully.
I can easily lock up my rear brake if I want to, causing the ABS to engage. I did have an issue recently where the pedal felt almost useless and the ABS light was not going off so I knew something was wrong, this was after replacing the rear brake swtch. System needed to be bled and it was back to normal, and will lock up.

my abs is fine but i was told u have to use the front and back at the same time for them to function properly thats what i do and it works great i would never have a bike without abs again.
After several incidents of coming down hill to an intersection with ruts perpendicular to the bike and trying to stop (and not run the yellow light, etc)........ and go slipping out into almost the middle of the intersection..... i've had enough.
i'm on an 08 FLHX, had it since April, and have put 12,000 on her (not married, no kids).
I want to be in control of my brakes, and not trust a friggen "download" to do it for me! I've ridden most my life, and have taken advanced riding courses, i still have MUCH to learn, but....point being:
yes, sometimes you lock breaks and skid or slide a bit, but with practice you can actually learn to control that too (at lower speeds, which is what i'm referencing above, not hauling *** down highway or interstate, etc.). They teach you this in advanced rider courses, and you do it over and over again.
I realize it's personal preference, but hats off to the gent who explained how to disable it....... i'm going to do it over the holidays.
Harley hasn't worked out the kinks on this issue yet boys.......IMO.
