Default Quadzilla Fairing

Can anyone with a Hoppe Quadzilla fairing comment on the quality of the unpainted raw finish? Is it smooth enough and is the black gel-coat a close enough match to HD vivid black to get by for now? Or is it nowhere near a match and painting is inevitable. Are you happy with the overall quality of this fairing and would you recommend it to other members on this forum? Thanks in advance, and any pics on a RoadKing (Classic) would be most helpful, as this is more than just a little chrome add on. Also, how does the audio sound in comparison to a stock HD system?

My Woody's Fairing gelcoat closely matches my vivid black, pic in sig. It was less than half the price of the quadzilla too. Here's a thread with pics:

Plus 1 for the woody's. Excellent finish, loud as hell, and SUPER customer service!

I agree 100% about the Woody's and Glenn is most accomodating with questions and answers and all, however I am a Cdn rider and getting his fairing shipped into Canada with the taxes, customs duty, brokerage fees etc seems to be mostly a PITA!!! It was my first choice over Hoppe, Dead Center and Dragonfly.
The Hoppe fairing is readily available thru any HD or indy shop up here, so my question goes back out to any Quadzilla owners.......please comment. Thx

Can't you get around those things by the shipper saying it's a gift, and giving a low value on the customs papers? I've shipped things to Canada several times, and it never seemed to be a big deal.

It has to do with the size of the box. If it is small enough to go USPS Intl, then there is no tariff when it is delivered . However, if it goes by UPS or Fed Ex, or one of those guys, they hold the package hostage until someone pays them an extra fee upon delivery. You would think that would be illegal, but a lot of my customers over in Canada have experienced the same problem. I am in the market for a fairing also, and will be watchting this thread closely too.

A buddy has the Quadzilla on his 05 RK Classic and really likes it. Sounds are very good.
Fit and finish (black) are excellent.

Are you required to re-locate the passing lamps to the front mounting holes for clearance like some fairings or will the Hoppe Quadzilla fit the stock arrangement?
