Ya don't have to convince me, now you'll see how much more fun the bike can be. Why no high flow air kit? Nice clean bike BTW, got that Streetglide look goin' on.[]
The dyno may not lie but the way you are comparing these 2 set ups is not accurate.
To get an accurate comparison you would need to run the Rush mufflers on each set of headpipes.Running the stock restrictive mufflers on the stock headpipes and the free flowing mufflers on the duals and claiming the duals outperform is incorrect.
oliver is correct. there are many set-ups out there with the crossover pipe with better #s. according to good ol dr. dyno he shows you how easy it is to come up with #s. the real way to tell is feeling it. oh well it also goes by sound and preference, and i personally just do not like the look of that crossover pipe
First off, it will never get put to rest.
Second, Oliver Clozoff nailed it, come one you can noway make a comparison with the stock mufflers. Yes,I do like the duals better then the stock cross over pipe system (just for the looks). But if you plan on building up your engine I would rather have the stock cross over header pipes with a good set of slip-ons over any true dual exhaust system out their. The cross over pipe acts as a 2-1.

I TOTALLY DISAGREE.....and IMO....2/1's are U....G....L....Y, UGLY
I'll just point this my previous thread. Touring Slip-on Ranking!! 18 set of pipes and one 95" TC equipped bike.
Here are the averages....not really enough to debate about from what I can see.
2-2
Average HP: 92.3
Average TQ: 96.98
2-1
Average HP: 92.41
Average TQ: 98.1
I don't really see where there is enough of a performance gain to spend the extra money on the 2-1. It all boils down to proper fuel management and tuning. Some 2-2s will outperform some 2-1s and vice versa. The average rider is not going to feel the difference of 2-5 hp or tq.
Just what Deathwind said....common sense, it all comes down to the tuning....excellent post....but I doubt that we'll ever put the tuning and exhaust posts....TO BED! True duals, truly rule, but hey, keep those threads rollin'.
I'm a machinist by trade. 23 years, manuels up to CNC mill and turning centers. I've been thinking it wouldn't hard to machine a piece to go in the rear pipe to deflect 95% or more of the exhaust into the left pipe you could have as much or as little crossover as you like. sorta like a power cone in a way.
