I thought the 2010 has cats in the header pipe plus with the 4 wire ox senser performance upgrades were limmated. and the 2010 puts more heat out account the cats in the header pipe.
2009 all the way. I don't know how the 2006-2008 Glides rode and handled but I do know I am very pleased with my 2009 FLHX.
2010 has no rear brake light. I like the traditional look of a rear tail light and the extra visibilty of the tail light.
2010 has a single exhaust. Again I prefer the traditional look of the dual mufflers.
2010 - has a catalyic coverter and runs even hotter than the pre cat 96" motors. I think this is the biggest negative of the 2010 compared to the 2009's.
I opted for the 2010. Several options to overcome the cat in the head pipe and as noted by others already the high performance folks are scrambling to release goodies for this model. As for the 2 -1 look, I find that I prefer it and am looking at the Vance and Hines Chrome Pro Hi Output 2-1 when it releases in January. Also like the 18 inch front tire and I prefer the brake light being gone off the fender, cleans up the look from the rear. With the turn signals pulled in and functioning as the brake and turn lights it cleans things up and from what the wife says from following is more than adequate to be seen.
........ i understood that the best year for an SG was the year you traded it in on a Road Glide. Maybe i heard that wrong, but i don't think so ... ;-}
