Default RG windshield question

Question for you Road Glide guys. I'm 5'8" with a 30" inseam. On a batwing bike I am perfectly comfortable with a 6.5 inch Clearview recurve.
The design of the batwing has it pretty close to the rider and the batwing itself is higher than a road glide fairing to start with. So these two things combined pretty much mean you can create a nice comfortable pocket of air behind the fairing with a pretty short windshield.

So... I'm looking at getting a RG. Looking around at the serious RG riders around here, a lot of you guys are running windshields as large as those found on like a Gold Wing. Definately not the look I'm going for. So my question is, does any of these [SHORT] Klockwerks Flare, CeeBailey, Clearview recurve, or any other latest craze [SHORT] windshields that cost about 150-299 bucks actually work? Or are they a waste of money? If I can't find something that looks as good as it works I'll just stick with another batwing.

5'8", 30" inseam...

I am 6'1 and have a cee baileys 15 in euro, for me it works great. I let a friend ride it and he is 5'8 and he told me that it was perfect for him. Good protection and he looked over the shield rather than through it. He is currently on a batwing considering a RG.

It all depends on what you want.if a bubble of still air is what you are after then none of the short one will work ima.i run a 8" klock works and like it.nice steady air.also have the 12" and that works good when it gets cooler.most seem to like the 12 alot better but i like to know i am still on abike.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm not looking for "No Wind" just no turbulent wind on my face. On my Ultra with 6.5 clearview I get turbulent wind on the top of my helmet but none on my face. Which is good...

So maybe the 12" Klockwerks... might try that one. The 8" version looks very cool. Cee Bailey 15...that one too.

The 12 kw should put the air over your head.i'm 6'2" and it puts the air right at the top of my head with no buffing

I tried the 12 in klockwerks and I did not have wind in the face, but the wind noise was brutal.

I have the new Klockwerks 16" on my Road Glide and it's pretty decent, although not as good as my Street Glide with a Cee Baileys. It's good enough that I don't want to go back to a batwing.

The 12"KW had a lot of wind noise when I tried it, 6'2" also, wind protection was good just could't get past the wind noise. At 5'8" the 15" cee bailey's Euro would work really good for you. here's a picture or 2 of it on the Dragon on my Road Glide

I'm 5'11" with a 32" inseam. I have the 12" Klock Werks with the non-vented lowers and a danny gray big seat and I get hardly any wind. My friend and fellow road glider is 6'4" and he too said he got minimal air when riding my set up. I have a feeling the lowers make a huge deal on this bikes.

Yes, the use of Lowers make a big difference. I have the Factory Lowers. The difference from with and without is very noticeable.
