Bought a '95 Ultra a few months back and it has the original factory stereo, am/fm and cassete. I want to upgrade the system and was thinking of buying a whole new radio with cd player. However a coworker told me today that he thought I should be able to install an mp3 player that would hook directly to my existing radio, and I would be able to download hundreds of songs. I'd rather go this route if it's possible. Has anyone done this, and if so, could you give me a brief rundown on how to hook it up? Thanks in advance. KC.
Hmmmm, there may be a an adapter that you can hook up to the back of the stock radio that will give you a aux input. Not sure what brand of stereo HD was using in 95 but you can check a few places on line to see if they have something that might work. I did the same thing a few years back. Granted it was on a Chevy Truck but PAC audio had an adapter that would work with the stock stereo. I don't see why you would not be able to find something similar to do what you want.
Another option you may want to look into is there a a lot of deals out there right now on stereo's you may be able to pick up a new marine unit with CD and Aux input for just a few dollars more than what you will find an adapter for.
