I spaced the rods 4 5/8" apart. I drilled the holes at the same height, but you could drill the back hole lower so to make the pak level when on the rack. Just a thought. An additional note; because of the depth of the tour pak and the shortness of the shelf brackets, this is the only orientation that the pak will mount. If you turn the pak around, the front will hit the wall.
For us lazy people, how far from the front of the bracket (end away from the wall) did you set your drill mark? With that measurement, the rest of us can duplicate your work really easily since you shared the other measurement.
WOW... Now that's a lot of **** for just using a few lock nuts!!! I just rummaged around in my nut bin and found just enough to do the job. I didn't have enough regular nuts and had four extra lock nuts. I didn't think it would hurt... and I didn't want to make a "special" trip to Ace Hardware. If I knew the **** that would come out of a couple lock nuts, I guess I should have made the trip. Take it easy guys.....
