If you use Easy-off, don't just spray it on. It'll eat the hell out of aluminum!
A guy on this forum spayed it on his pipes to get some goo off it. All the overspray on his polished engine turned it a dull grey. Not nice!

Hmmm...... I had my Quadzilla fairing stripped to match the stock Harley stripping on my R-king last year by a very well known pinstripper here in NY. While he was stripping the bike he was able to easily remove the paint with some solvent he had. I asked him if it could be removed later by say sanding with 1000 or 2000grit wet or dry sandpaper and rebuffed and he told me in no uncertain terms that it would not come off without damaging the base paint be it clear or single stage paint. He said that the paints currently used by the strippers today bite into the base coat and attempting to remove it will leave marks in the paint where the strips had adheared. I sat with the stripper as he did my bike and love how it turned out so I am not concerned with removing it. But If you remove yours let us know how and how it turned out.

Are the stripes painted on or vinyl stickers?

Most stripers use one shot paint. It is most common among stripers. It is very easily removed, unless you clear over it. If the guy who striped the bike did not sand it, it has nothing to bite to .I have also used mineral spirits to remove striping countless times.

I am not sure but from what i can tell it looks like Harley put the factory pin stripes under the clear coat, I would like to remove the factory stripes if possible but if it is risky i can live with em. Has anyone tried this? It an 09 RK btw.

The factory pinstripes "are" under the clearcoat. The OP was asking about post factory work.
I wouldn't attempt removing the factory stripes short of a total repaint....

They are painted on. The guy that did them is an old hot rodder and overkilled it. We talked about doing something real suttle with thin burgundy and smoke gray pin stripes on my "silver" SG. I got large fire engine red and blue stripes. Not thin, Large swirly designs. The bike is down right embarassing. So no pictures

DO NOT USE LACQUER THINNER............... it will bite into the clear coat. I would use enamel reducer or call a body shop and get the thoughts.

Thumbs up

Methyl Ethyl Keytone will take it off. Work it in small areas at a time. Buff it out with wax or 3M Finesse It first then wax.
