08 and up you must change the setting for your fuel gauge.
Your gear indicator must be set while you ride and shift.
Everything else is ready to go, tech help at DD walked me through it, great people.
Now, I can't wait to get it out on the road.

Awesome. I'm glad they relaxed their stance on the odometer calibration. Before, you had to send it it with the mileage you wanted on it. Didn't know about the calibration, so good to know in the future. I really like the looks of the DD gauges. Very unique, especially if the inner faring is painted.

Pics??

Default Dakota Digital

The Plug & Play is true for the basic wiring connection. The speedo can be calibrated in two ways: Speed Menu or Performance Menu. The Speed Menu shows the odometer mileage. Trip meter A; Trip Meter B; miles since last service (programmable); and can be programed for KMh or MPH. The factory must set the odometer with the current mileage on your bike at the factory. You can not set it yourself. So when ordering, provide Digital Dakota with your current mileage. I didn't know about this, and had to send the Spedo back to Digital Dakota for calibration at the cost of a $35.00 fee to do so.

The performance menu shows high speed recall; 0-60 mph time; quarter mile time; and quarter mile speed.

The TACH is programmable as well. It shows clock set up; night dimming (manual or automatic) rpm warning; rpm update rate for digital readout and transmission gear programming (Older gauges show gears 1 thru 6; newest gauges can be programmed to show 1 thru 7 - for those who have a Baker DD7). To see what version gauges you have Hold the push button in, located beside the speedometer, turn the key and the tac will show a reading BT3 or BT4. If it shows BT 4 you can program the 7th gear. If it shows BT3, send the TAC back to Dakota Digital to be calibrated with the latest version software. then your tac gear indicator can be programed for gears 1 thru 7.

The Oil pressure setup will show the current oil pressure setting, and can be set to flash for a user selected low oil pressure and High oil pressure warning.

Oil temp gauge setup will show oil temp, and has a user selectable high temp warning point (gauge will flash)

Fuel gauge set up will show a full tank as 100, and automatically count down to 0, with the gauge flashing when it reaches 10. I have driven 20-30 miles past 0 and did not run out of gas. I believe it hits 0 about the same time the stock fuel light would come on. Warning: For 2004-2007 models the fuel sender uses the "ID" setting on the gauge; 2008 models require the setting to "33" for a correct reading. I am not sure about 2009 and 2010 models.

Volt gauge has a user settable low and high voltage warning points that will make the gauge flash

A 15-page booklet comes with the 6-gauge MCL3006 kit, with pictures and calibration procedures. Not too complicated at all.

I will tell you the gauges can be seen clearly in any lighting conditions, and when the sun sets I have mine set to dim automatically. All 6 gauges dim at the same time so as not to blind the rider.

Customer service is outstanding, and I have sent questions to the website contact on three occasions, receiving an answer the same day.

Wingman, I have to disagree with you on one thing (by the way very nice reply) the odometer can now be set by the owner within the first 100 miles after that kiss the option goodby. I have pics with color match inner and after market radio but can't figure out how to post them.

StreetGlideRider,
I don't know all that much about the new version software (BT-4)which is now offered, but on the BT-3 version, I had less than 27 miles on the Odometer when I called Dakota digital asking about calibrating my odometer to reflect the 12,000 plus mileage I had on the clock on the original gauges, and I was told it had to be done at the factory. The BT-4 version software most likely allows the owner to calibrate it himself. At least............that is what the factory rep told me. I have to send my TACH back for the BT-4 software calibration as I am anticipating having a DD7 installed at the 2010 Sturgis rally.

Let me know how you like them and if they are worth it. I'm sitting on the fence as to getting them or not.

Got mine in a few weeks ago, but there's been snow on the roads pretty much ever since then. Loved the glow the first night I rode it after the install - very easy to read. Here's a few chitty camera phone pic of them.

BTW - one of our forum members (ClassicRyder) sells them on e-bay for around $875. If you find his listing, call his shop and he'll give you a little price break.
