So we never saw your real hand..Was the tire flawed or where you just going for the "Freebie".....I'm sure it was flawed as you would NEVER try to pull a fast one on our beloved MOCO....
Still freez'n this morning so I think I'll make it a Bloody Mary kinda day!
I actually do like the MOCO. I figure it was probably the MOCO that went to bat for all of us against Dunlop. It's the dealers that tick me off every now and then. I really don't know if this guy was trying to pull a fast one on me or if he was just misinformed. So I just kept it friendly, showed him the SB and everything worked out fine.
As for the tire, it was slightly cupped and seemed to make some extra noise and vibration. Maybe it was all just my imagination but after reading the Service Bulletin I wasn't confident and a front tire is something that demands complete confidence. I figured the cupping would progressively get worse so I wanted to get the fix while my tread depth still qualified.
Plus I gotta say that I really like the new look of the blackwall and I won't miss cleaning that skinny little whitewall stripe.
this tire thing is a u.s and canada recall. any dealer worth his salt wouldn't hesitate in changing the tire; its a safety thing and he gets paid from harley anyway. he doesn't send back every tire he changes so what the problem.

I don''t think this is a recall. I think it is a Service Bulletin notice to dealers on how to handle a potential warranty issue on the 407F. Like I said, I don't think the service manager was trying to ignor the safety aspect. I think he was just unaware or misinformed on the spec. Still slightly troublesome in that he didn't take a minute to become "informed". I won't ever blame anyone for not knowing something, but he should have simply pulled up the SB and read the spec instead of making sh*t up.
The problem is with Dunlop, not the MOCO. I hope that the MOCO is able to get full reimbursement for the replacement tire and the labor , from Dunlop.
Glad to hear you got new tire. It is unfortunate that you had to show them the service bulletin. I went through the same bull$hit trying to get my front motor mount replaced on my 05 FLHT. The look on their face was priceless when I just happend to have a copy of the bulletin.
I just rode my 09 home in the rain Friday with my new free front tire. The dealer in Chico- Halls Harley , change it out with a smile. I rode home in the rain with a big Smile too. Two thumbs up for Mo Co and Halls Harley this time.
