Default SG owners and taller bars, I have questions

I'm adding a HD batwing to my RKC, and I'm looking at also adding a little taller bar. Can you use the stock fairing mounted mirrors? How tall can you go before they are worthless? What did you do if you deemed them worthless? Any suggestions would be great before I buy the SG mirrors for my inner fairing, and before I buy the wrong bars. Dawg has turned me on to the Kromeworks +2 sweepers and they look like a good bar.

What are my options?

I would think that bars between 10” and 12” would just about completely block the fairing mounted SG mirrors. With the 13” Cyclesmiths the mirrors are slightly blocked by the switch covers. Rider height and position of the bars have a lot to do with the view. The closer the bars are to the fairing the better the view will be. My mirrors are slightly blocked but I can see well enough. 16” bars should not be a problem if you want to go with that height.

Nothing better than the fairing mirrors BUT any bar change creates a problem. Finally gave in and ordered perch mount mirrors for the bar change I'm gonna do. Those upsidedown mirrors in this thread look alot better than sticking up IMO, if you can make it work

Hey Jonny,

I've got 14" Wild 1 bagger bars on my SG with the stock fairing mirrors. My mirrors aren't blocked but I'm also 6' so that may help me.
