Am planning a month of riding in New Zealand (both islands) next year and have gotten several rental quotes from different tour companies and they are all EXPENSIVE! Also got a shipping quote round trip from L.A. to Christchurch for about $7500 - all inclusive. Even at that price it is still cheaper to ride my own bike plus I have it set up perfectly for my own preference. Has anyone had any experience with overseas shipping and if so, what recommendations could you pass on. Thanks!
I'd love to ride New Zealand, but that it incredibly expensive. Hope you have a great time though. Please let us all know how it goes, and what the highs, and lows are for you. Enjoy.

+1 on that. Oh man that would be sweet. Your one lucky dog.
Please take lots of and post them so those of us that dream of this but will probably never get the chance can get an idea of what it would be like.
Last Feb. we rode a DAMM boat out of Auckland to Sidney. Good times,
but I dont have to do that again. Can you buy a bike on the island and
give some bloak a GOOD deal, on the way out of town.
Oh by the way a first class ticket from Norfolk was Auckland was >10K
MORE than coach. It felt good saving 20K plus.......LOL........Tenn.Vol.
Boy is that Expensive! I did 5 days of hunting, killed a Silver Stag, Bronze Sheep, 40 ducks, 10 Turkeys and paid $7000 INCLUDING airfare in NZ last April (2009). I guess hunting is not that expensive after all.
