move to Florida and ride 12 months a year. If you can;t then the heated clothing is an option but really how much fun is it riding in very cold weather. I guess I am just getting soft, But I love to ride and have done 15K a year.... in the spring, summer and fall.

Riding in the very cold weather is as much fun as the heat of the summer if you have the correct gear. At least I can control the heated gear, it's hard to control the heat of the sun.

i rode to work the other night 120 mile round trip. 30F on the way in 22F on the way home. Batwing, Lower Fairings, underarmor and a decent jacket.. no Gerbings. I was comfortable, and it was a nice ride. with the heated liner, and G3 gloves i will be one happy camper. i see so many guys complaining that they can't ride due to weather... i will only be stopped by heavy snowfall. when it clears... back on the road. riding is like church to me. my alone time. now with the Electra Glide i am really happy. i will still jump on the evo heritage for around town, but this bike is a dream to ride even down into the 20s.
ps- i got the gloves today for my birthday.
i get the jacket liner for Christmas.
i'm of the same school of thought. call me a puss. in fact call me anything you want... as long as i have control of my throttle and handlebars.. i'm in control of my ride. anything that can assist in extending my riding season is welcome here.
Those of us NOT snowbound, see the price of heated gear... gag, and then go buy NON-heated gear... then we buy MORE non-heated gear, and repeat, until we finally DO buy heated gear.
Then we look at the pile of non-heated gear... add up the cost, and wonder WTF was I thinking???? usually we spend more on non-heated gear, than if we just went ahead, and bought the good stuff first
Nothing like easing down the road, in sub-freezing weather, and being toasty warm
Snow??? you're on your own.... but that's WHY, I moved from NJ, to NC
That analysis is right on target! Many of us did exactly what you describe.
