Default Road King differences

I own an RK 1450 carb but I have an issue to what year it suppose to be? Most of the 1999 models have single piston front calipers, mine has twin piston type.
Reason for asking all you HD fans is that the frame states 1999. It was registered in the UK in 2001. Is it a fact that the bike frames are made in a certain year and labled, then they are then built to later models?

Not sure about the UK (Export) models but the FLH line got the new 4 piston calipers beginning with the '00 model year.

First number is 1 or 5. 1= American, 5= International model.

5 ( 5=International,1= American) HD (Manufacturer & Make) 1 (1=Heavyweight,901cc &up. 4 = Middleweight 351cc-900cc)FD (Model Designation, FD= FLHR) V (Engine Type, V= TC88 carbed, W=TC88 EFI) 1 ( 1 = Regular production date, 2= Mid Year, 3= Ca only, 4= Special Edition)*(*=varies , could be 0-9 or an X) 3(Model Year) Y 110000 ( sequential number)

So a bike with.... 5HD1FD1V1X2Y110000 would be an '02 International Carbed Road KIng regular production and the 110,000th one made

Date of manufacture was 1999, but it is a 2000 made for export.
