Default Too many accessories...............

Yesterday, I attempted to hardwire my Sirius Radio on my EGC. It was powered from the cig. lighter and I wanted to free that up for a GPS. There is a free hot wire at the headlamp, but it apparently is 12v and the Sirius is stepped down to 5v through the plug. My question is, for a simple fix, could I simply buy a dual female plug to fit in the cig lighter so that I can power both the Sirius Radio and also the GPS?????

Don't know what kind of Sirius rcvr. you have,I've used the Sportster 5 mod. for 3 yrs. with no problems.Chek out www.myradiostore.com for their motorcycle kit $49.00.It comes with a 5/12 volt power supply that you hardwire in I wasn't impressed with their mount but the antenna and power supply work great.Mines mounted in the fairing with velcro.I made a wiring harness 1 10ga. wire directly off of batt. for an amp,2 wires off of the aux/acc plug under the seat all going to a little waterproof fuse box I made thats mounted under the left side of the fairing. This feeds my Zumo, sirius radio power supply and a power point I mounted on the fairing. Can't imagine there's enough room between your gas tank and lighter for a dual plug.

What I did for my xm radio was install another cig lighter inside the fairing and then zip tied the power supply so that it won't come out. It's been in there for two years without a problem.

Question aux connections??

I'm there with the too many toys on my bike, so I decided to get the Zumo 550. It has everything in one unit GPS, MP3, XM radio. This will clean up my bike alot, but I do have one question I hope someone can answer. I plan to hard wire my Zumo and I understand that there is an AUX in the back of the radio I can plug into which I plan to do. So my question is if my Zumo is plugged into the back AUX what happens if I use the AUX in the front of the radio?
