Question Accessory switch ?

2008 FLHX. Can anyone tell me , before I tear into it, the accessory switch on the inner fairing, beside the cruise control switch, I would like to connect my Heat Demons grip warmers to that switch, it is a dummy switch as far as I can tell, the light comes on but does nothing. How can I go about hooking something up to that? Any help is good.

It controls the accessory connector located under your seat

Can you elaborate on that, The bike is "new" to me, and I really only know Dyna's, Touring is a whole new game, Thanks.

Under the seat is a connector, you can buy the other end at the HD store with a cigarette lighter plug on it ($20). Use the plug or just take it off and connect to what ever device/plug you want. The accessory switch controls on/off. but remember it's off without the key on. The connect on my FLHT is located just in front of the battery.

Off hand do you know what the fused rating on that circuit is? I have a RG and I never knew the plug was under the seat, sounds like a perfect place to feed an electric clothing circuit (pants, vest, gloves and maybe socks). Thanks for the info Dawg and Cruzn

If you hook something up to the accesorary connection under your seat, it won't work unless you turn on the acc switch next to the curise control.

I use mine to run the two blue lights on the rear. I wired them up to the switch so I can turn off or on when I want. You can buy just the plug and the push pin connectors for alot less than $20.
