I'm not quite understanding your request here. Are you riding the bike with the ECM flashed to learn new VE tables? If so, I thought, you were only supposed to do this for a short time and build the map, flash with new "suggested" VE tables with the final flash taking it out of the learning mode so you don't fry something.

If you buy the training vid it tells you how to do it. Its not just a matter of going for a ride. You need to deliberately run the motor at different loads, revs and throttle positions for it to learn a whole new map.

The smart tune is in the software for PC. If you have a newer SEPST it will allow you to use this feature. I have purchased the tuner, tuner software, cables and training dvd but haven't installed anything yet. I have watched dvd twice lots of info.

This is what I am understanding you to have. The second item is what you will need to get the "smart tune" feature or upgrade.

I am not sure what the dealer sold you or gave you but what are saying does not sound correct. I would show the dealer the SE parts catalog and have him show you exactly what you have.

SCREAMING EAGLEŽ PRO
SUPER TUNER

Get the biggest advantage at the race track with the
Screamin’ EagleŽ Pro EFI Super Tuner. The hardware and
software in the Super Tuner makes EFI tuning easier with
dozens of innovative tuning enhancements. Super Tuner is

Japanese, Italian, Portuguese, and Dutch), and is compatible
with Windows XP and Vista.
The Super Tuner includes an ergonomically improved Vehicle
Communication Interface (VCI) box. The new VCI allows USB
connectivity to your PC and contains on board memory for a
full 15 minutes of data recording, tracking up to 26 data variables.
Data recording is conveniently activated with a push of
a button, allowing the VCI to be taken to the track to gather
data during true race conditions. Cable Kit (P/N 32184-08)
is sold separately and provides all necessary connections
between Motorcycle, VCI, and PC / Laptop.
The Super Tuner Software is easy to use with a large icon
layout, compatible with touch screen laptops, the ability to

tools to keep you on track. Data and Tuning functions are
combined into a single application, insuring you are only 2
clicks away from any major tuning function. With a click of a
button, the software automatically connects to the internet
and updates to the most current version as well as retrieves
the newest calibrations developed by professional Screamin’
Eagle calibrators. Software contains built-in model recognition
that filters calibrations, listing those that are applicable
to your model. State of the art graphing capabilities illustrate
tables clearly, highlighting areas for improvement, and are
fully scalable and customizable. Additional features include
editable calibration text, custom note fields, drag and drop,

OK the way this works is that the little black box that came with the regular SEPST can record as you ride. You connect the cable, press the little red button and it will record up to 15 or 30 minutes of riding ( the manual is out in the shop, don't remember which it is ). Once you have done this, you then connect your computer up to the other end of the black box ( which is still connected to your bike ). The software downloads all the data and you can view details on the PC.

I do this now to check the tune on my bike whenever I make any changes, if you know how to read the parameters it will tell you worlds about how your bike is running. With the regular SESPT you then go in and manually make adjustments to the maps based on the data that is collected during the recording sequence. Finally you uplad the data back to the ECM on your bike. Then you start at the begining to see how the changes you have done work to maximise your tune. Usually takes me four or five passes to get it just right.

With the new software everything is the same above, except the software will now read all the parameters that you captured while you were riding and will create the maps automatically, this should maximize your tune in one step.

As always there are some compromises to this method. The software has to assume you want the best overall tune, this is not going to give you the best tune for drag racing or the best tune for road racing, but it should get you REALLY close to an excellent all around tune.

Looks like I need to upgrade my SEPST for the new features~!
