I'm lucky, my son is home now. He starts is first deployment on Jan. 5th, one thing I did notice is how very professonal the young men and women serving today are. Kids now seem far better trained and motivated than I ever was back in the bad old 70s. I think todays military is the best we have ever had and I feel better about my boys upcoming tour after seeing the caliber of todays NCOs and troops.

Sailors Christmas

Thanks - I spent a few Christmas's on a submarine during the cold war era. Remember it well.

I am thankful that I can spend Christmas with the family safe and secure in my home.

WOW! That hit close to home for me. I spent 10 yrs in the Navy and never read anything like that. So much of the description is SPOT ON!

Lord, protect all those that are serving on your birthday and watch over their families in their absence.
