Did a search and didn't find anything for Road Kings. I ordered a solo seat from Harley and will be picking it up later today. It should have instructions with it but is there anything else I will need or should it be a quick install? Hate to drive to the dealer twice in one day if I can help it.
Well brought the seat home and tried to install it. Does not have all the hardware needed for the Classic models. I need to also get hardware kit # 52903-01 to complete the install. They want to soak me for another $69.95 for pretty much a bracket and 2 screws.
No thanks, I'm bringing the solo seat back as a return and paying the 15% restocking fee.
One last question, the screw on the back that holds the regular seat in place, I noticed it's a little loose....is that something I would have to take the back wheel off to tighten?
BigAl47,
Your bike is ok. The nut in the rear fender, which holds the back of your seat on, is suposed to be loose, not an issue. Get the Harley davidson Brawler solo seat. I put it on my 09 Street Glide. It comes complete and you don't need a thing. Nice look and gives a nice ride. Good luck.
check into c&c seats as well. comes with everything you need to install, and its a comfortable all day seat as well. plus you can order it with custom leather, stitching, etc.
