I have had mine since 1979. But I have been riding since 1974.
Wow! I find it interesting that some of you that did not have a license were even able to purchase and register a scoot without an endorsement! Here in VA it is a requirement plus the dealers would not even talk to you unless you presented them with your license!

Actually you can register and tag a bike in VA without a motorcycle endorsement. My son bought his when he returned from Iraq. The dealer had now problem taking his money they just wouldn't let him ride it off of their property due to liabilty issues. So I rode it home for him.
Im no angel....But riding without a license, sorry i just don't get it...For you guys that don't have one..Really WHY not....Some of you sound proud of the fact?? Why because you have gotten away with something????
In Illinois i know Leos that will pull you over and give you a warning for say speeding...BUT if you don't have a license well they have no choice but to haul your a$$ in....AND if you got in an Accident.WTF....AND if you are out of state on a vacation and get pulled over that would surely cost some $$$$$$... I guess im to assume you have no insurance either.....Sorry to vent...JUST DON'T GET IT!!!!!!!....

To address this, at least for myself my excuse was working away from home and had to delay a flight until the 3rd business day as the local license office only gives endorsement tests on Tuesdays and Thursdays. In short I rode a couple years without an endorsement so thanks to those of you that eased my conscience!!!! My current license is good through 2017.
