Keep the 06 . How many miles on the 06 ?
I don't think the 07s will be such a big hit .
88 to a 96 not much of a difference .
Sixth gear you need to be doing 70 plus .
Sure lots oh leds more electronics more to go wrong.
4 piston brakes not sure if they are duals on the front that may be the only good thing they did.
$4500.00 is a lot of extras you can buy.
I would not trade my bike in at the dealer. They may paint a nice picture, but they are the one's that come out on top.
Be patient and sell it yourself if you have not signed on the line!
After woring for GM dealers for 10 years ,IMHO never buy first year model . It takes a year to work out the bugs on new models , engines . Look at the 6 speed problem fixed now for 2007.
The sales mgr. just came back from the dealer meeting yesterday and we had a little chat on the new motor and tranny specs, etc. I threw the question out "what kind of trade will you give me on my 05 Ultra on new bike?" No definitive answer. All I got was that the shop owner hasn't come up with prices on the new bikes. Sounds like somebody is gonna try and do a little scalping on new models. Frankly, there isn't a new color available for the 07's that I'd take if they were givin' them away. I agree with the rest of you, I'll spend the difference tradin' on a 95" kit and 6 speed before takin in the backside just to trade. Plus I like the Reinharts too much to give them up.
The two biggest reasons I stopped by the dealer was this...........
1)Iam ready to drop $2500/$3000 on a set of gear driven cams and head work along with the diamond cut heads and barrels. Even though I knew that I would have to take it up the wazzoooo on a trade, I wanted to see some hard numbers.
2)It was hot as hell here yesterday. What better way to spend the afternoon in a air conditioned Harley Showroom looking at the new line-up and sitting on them?
I can't see trading in my RK, that I almost got to where its truely my bike and starting over if its going to cost me $4500. The dealer even offered to put the bike on cosignment in their showroom, but that means no bike to ride........forgetaboutit.
Don't do it[sm=badidea.gif] I bet you'll end kicking your self [sm=bangbang.gif]. You have a nice bike already. I don't get why would you want to do this? Have you rode the 96" yet"
I wouldnt trade for that much, but as for the 96 vs the 88 the 96 has a big difference in torque according to their website. 92 ft lbs torque vs the 88 with 60ish?
