Default Confirm Torque on rear axle nut

I just replaced the rear tire on the bike and my manual has 15-20 ft. lbs torque for the rear axle nut. Is this correct?

That does not seem like much torque when the 3/8 caliper bolts are torqued to 43-48 ft. lbs.

Just want to make sure this is not a mistake in the manual.

Thanks.

I have a 2010 SM and it states 95-105 ft. lbs.

No it is not. The 15-20 ft lbs is the PRELIMINARY torque. You adjust the belt if needed. Then holding the weld nut, torque to 95-105 ft. lbs.
This came from my 2010 service manual. It should be the same for your '09

Thanks guys, I needed to continue over to the belt adjusting section to get the final torque value. I knew 20 ft. lbs. could not be enough.

Rum makes you guess low. Vodka makes you go too high, as I was about to suggest 200 ft. lbs.!
