You might contact Manatee River HD in Bradenton. They also have a store in Sarasota. Not sure what you are looking for, but we go down after Christmas and lay on the lido beach for a week.
Their website list the phone numbers/emails of HOG officers as well that might be able to help out.
I was in Bradenton 3 weeks ago. Didn't have much time to explore and about the only 2 rides I did enjoy were along Longboat Key and then down to Venice. Take 64 west to the top of Longboat Key and 789 south into Sarasota. Take 41 south to Venice.
Florida really wasn't to my liking. The roads were straight, multi-lane and flat and you really had to pay attention. Too many Q-tips for me. I didn't have a chance to go inland, maybe you will have time to do so and find some less travelled roads. Are you renting a scoot?

Soos - I have been down there in a cage. It does look like High-Alert riding.
And Yes - I will be renting while there.

I rented from Manatee River. They weren't renting any '09 or '10 touring bikes because of the fuel tank recall. I had to rent a Heritage. Their website isn't updated as of 3 weeks ago. It says they have '08's. Not true. I hope that you checked ahead of time.
Yes! Go inland! There are some not so crowded roads to the east. Go post in the Florida Crew section. We have some members that live in that area and every so often we will meet up in Arcadia to do some riding.
You might want to post in the Florida Crew section. There are several guys in there that are down that way and give you good ideas where to ride. Pretty much going to have to head east to get out of the traffic.

Soos - If you've been here in the past 3 weeks you were in the peak snowbird season. Every blue hair with a Lincoln or Cadillac is here and they'll hang around crashing into stuff until Easter. The places you listed above are areas the local riders avoid this time of year, and most of the year for that matter. You need to get away from the costal areas for some better riding. The inland roads are still flat and straight but there is plenty of good two lane, less traveled country riding once you get east of I-75.
