I have a woody's fairing and could't be more happy with it. sounds great (comes with speakers). I spent $200 on paint and $113 on the head unit, so for around $1000 I have an awesome fairing. my gps is mounted on the bars though and not in the fairing. the radio also has aux input as well as usb slot for iPOD or flash drive.
If you want a fairing bike, go for it. I am in the process of adding a full Harley fairing to my 08 RK Classic. I have purchased an inner and outer fairing, brackets, wiring harness, and outer skirt so far. After removing and selling the parts from my bike, I will no longer need, I am only into the project $100 so far. I only have small parts left to purchase, and then I will begin adding the fairing to my bike.
Believe me, I researched selling my bike and buying a fairing bike, but the market on used bikes is crappy and this made the most sense. I also thought of adding a detachable fairing, but personally, I never plan on removing the fairing anyways. My windshiled was on my bike 24/7/365, so it was an easy decision.
The parts are out there, and prices are very reasonable to complete the project. I started my transformation about a month ago, and found all the main pieces in just a few weeks. I probably could have had the bike done by now, but I live in the NW so time is on my side. Good luck!
I'm anxious to hear and see how yours turns out. I have no idea how far along I'll be at any given time. Every time I see a nice Ultra, my motivation to convert my RKC gets a little more vague. The fairing lowers are at the paint shop now and will be finished by Tuesday.
Don't want to hijack the thread here but I am curious about the size of the gap around the headlight on on the pictures I have seen of Woody's fairing and does the dragonfly or dead center have this gap
+2 For woody's.
RKRIde there is a gap between the head light and fairing, I just took a piece of steering wheel cover and made a little insert, it almost looks factory and fills the gap so no problem there.

Very nice on the Woodys. Simple. Without fanfare. No resemblance to parts of the car "tuning".
The black speaker grille complete. Is that more stock is similar to Ultra HD.

Could be a dumb question but would the steering wheel cover rub on the chrome after a while, Just wondering??
keltonkrew - Good pictures of your fairing - I like your setup
