I thought they added a letter after the part number to designate a change in the part?
According to the '07 parts manual the primary number is 39968-06 and the secondary is 39969-06. Those are the same part numbers listed in the '09 manual.
That's the same part number I had in my book and that I bought to replace the ones in the pictures. The replacement pads were white in color, I haven't completed the job if any one wants a picture of the replacement pads I'll be happy to shoot one.
Also it appears that some time during the '07 run Harley switched to the white pads, one of the earlier posts was an '07 Ultra that had white pads. Also good information about the manufacturing process causing the bubbles that explains a lot and is the reason I keep coming to this fourm there is SO much good information here.
Not really. Autozone and Advanced Auto and Walmart (to name a few) all carry Mobile 1. Only so many dealerships around and they don't have the store hours these other joints have.
Not that I am recommending any particular brand. LOL (They beat me up if I do that).
I do everything I can to stay out of Walmart so I really don't know what oil they have but that is good to know if I make the switch. When I looked for the Mobil 1 I called two or three Auto Zone's before I found one that had the Mobil 1 Syn for Motorcycles and then they barely had enough for the change. The Advanced Auto by my house doesn't have Mobil 1 but it does have Royal Purple. However every dealer I've been in had several quarts of Syn3 and most of the time, unless it's a Sunday, I'm out riding during business hours and that's when I would need oil. That being said on tours I do carry one quart of oil with me in case I get in a bind.
Amsoil buys their base oil from Mobile 1, Then they add their own additaves. Both are very good oils. Syn3 is not a fully syntheic oil but is also a very good oil.
I don't think so, mobile one has a dino oil base, Amsoil is an ester base, like Red line and only 2 or 3 other ester base oil.
Dayum, why does everything turn into an oil thread?
Hey SOOS watch me hijack the hijacking of my thread. I found the worn tensioners because I was changing to SE255 cams. Do you guys think thats the cam for me?
