Just keep some extra clothes with ya "just in case"
Imagine the liner not working and NOT having some extra
chit wit ya! Would be a cold ride bro!
Just an idea...
Pete
All you'd really need is a rain suit to go over the heated gear.... if they failed. My jacket liner does a great job as an extra layer, even if it isn't plugged in. The gloves are top notch.
Worse case would be to stop at a sporting goods store, and pick up a couple packs of those "hot hands".
As far as I'm copncerned, the only down side to heated gear, is the butt kicking I gave myself for waiting so long before buying the Gloves, Jacket liner, and over pants.
I have to agree, gloves liner and overpants greatest thing. Definately extends the riding season. Only drawback is that it takes a second mortgage for the wife and me. Kept the wife so toasty that she fell asleep on a long ride.
Just need to find a way to plug those areas the chaps dont cover. 30 and above is ok but in the 20s you know whats not covered real fast. The heated seat helps put heat back in you but not a fix all.

Wouldn't the heated pant liner do the trick? I agree the "open area" that leather chaps don't cover is an issue.
I'll get the gloves, but I don't think it'll be that cold here for very long to warrant the heated pants.
Heated gear is the best thing you'll buy. Some of you that say it doesn't get that cold where you live, maybe not but if yoou tour you will run into times that the heated gear will be a blessing. Been there, done that!
I use the over jacket and pants, gerbings union ridge, love it. If you're starting out get the jacket liner and gloves with a controller. Trust me you'll love it too. Warm and safe makes good stuff too. I know Gerbings offers
life time warranty
wear a long sleve tshirt under the jacket. Lightweight jacket over it. Sweet!

If the manufacturers of this stuff would offer demo rides with their gear they'd make millions! Until you experience the comfort and freedom, you just don't know what you're missing.
A few of my riding buddies say "oh it's only the tips of my fingers that get cold" yet where are they when it's 40 degrees outside?
It's one of those "Best thing I've ever bought" things.

As they say. Why be cold???
Warm and Safe has the same lifetime warranty as Gerbing.
How is the wiring configured for the liner? One thing I don't like about using my heated gloves is the cable you have to wear inside (loosely) of your coat. Just never looked close at the heated vests while at the dealer and the online HD pictures of the gear dont' show how the cable routes through the liner.
