Not a headache per say, just some additional work for me but well worth it and the price is right......
I brought my 09 SG's front wheel and tire to my dealer today to get the Dunlap D408F put on.
The tech could hear something rolling around inside the hub. After removing the bearings, sand was present in the hub.
They said this was the forth bike they had with sand in the hub. It is from improper cleaning of the hub at the factory prior to installing the bearings. All wheels with sand so far have been the cast solid wheels.
In time they said the wheel would have seized up.
I now have to pull my rear wheel off because they say it's a better then 80% chance that it also has sand in the hub.
Well, new tire and front ABS bearings on the MoCo and maybe rear bearings also.
A good day for me but if you have an early 09 touring bike with solid wheels, you may want to check your wheels.

Look to the positive. The dealer found and is fixing it under warrant(?). Yes you can't ride the bike right now. Better to have found it now than have it seize up running down the road. Good luck.

I'm not bitching at all.....My front end is off for the chrome front end kit, so the bikes on the lift already and with the cold weather, I'm not riding for at least another two months....
I'm grateful that they found the problem and corrected it, what else can you ask for.
Headache, yes, but great that the dealer found the problem and is resolving it, no questions asked! And, their dealing with the rear tire so you won't have a problem down the road...
